So I've been holding out on shopping for Christmas until Black Friday this year. There's so many things I want to get for people but I want to see if they'll go on sale first before I spend a bunch of money.
The Naked palette is something I've wanted for so long! I keep not buying it because I think it's too expensive for eyeshadow, but hopefully it will go on sale for Black Friday and I can get one for myself and one for my (almost) sister-in-law and maybe one for my mom and cousin.
The printer is not the exact one that I want, but I am in desperate need of a color printer for my new job and I think if I mention to my boss that it's like 70% off for Black Friday she might be more in to buying it for me. Fingers crossed!
Then there's the GoPro Hero camera. This thing is the best gift for a sports enthusiast. You can suction cup this HD camera to anything, surf board, dune buggy, car, bike...doesn't matter and it will record flawless HD video. Perfect for those men who want to show off their weekend at the dunes. It's regularly $300 so I hope I can get a little discount on this one come Black Friday so I can buy it for my boyfriend.
My boyfriend LOVES all white shoes. So I'm keeping an eye out for some good deals this year.
I want to pierce my ears (I know what a loser huh? I've been too chicken to pierce them) and when I do I want some diamond studs. So we'll see if any go on sale for the holidays.
The Dooney cross body bag is for my boyfriends mom. She has one already but it's pretty old so I want to get her a new one. I've seen a few at TJ Maxx, but I'm hoping I'll see more at better prices in a couple weeks.
And the Paris pillow is from Hobby Lobby. I don't want that pillow but it was the only thing Polyvore listed when I typed in Hobby Lobby. I'm waiting to see if they have even better sales than they usually do come Black Friday. Things on my list: Christmas Tree, Christmas decorations, office accessories, lamps, mirror, and candles!
I think I'm going to put together some gift guides this year. I love looking at what other people are thinking about giving their family and friends so I thought I'd join in on the brainstorming.

If I had somewhere to go I would want to replicate this look exactly. The dress, shoes, clutch, ring, hair, makeup...I love it all. Kudos Miss Belle.

OOtD: Monday at Work

Top: H&M, Tank & Jeans: Forever 21, Shoes: BCBG, Watch: Fossil, Necklace: Forever 21 I think

Not feeling too inspired for work wear today so I just threw on a go to uniform of skinny jeans, wedges, loose shirt, and a necklace. Today is the start of a very busy week again. And did I mention I turn 25 tomorrow? Nutsssss. xo

Can you believe she JUST turned 16? Umm hi. Was I the only one that looked like the biggest nerdo-dork ever when I was 16? Nuts. Just had to comment on this. Cute outfit though! xo

Kings & Queens

Yay for lazy Sundays. Just woke up and searched the movie channels for a good movie I can roll up in a blanket and watch. My all time favorite types of movies are ones with kings and queens in them. The Other Boleyn Girl, the Elizabeth movies, The Young Victoria, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Marie Antoinette and so on.

I'm not sure why but I'm completely intrigued by this type of movie and the time period they portray. I think its one of the reasons I love books of the same nature too.

I can't get over how they lived back then and how they dressed and the things they did. I'm totally a nerd and totally into it. This is also probably the reason I still have the entire 7 hour royal wedding coverage on my DVR. I'm enamored.

Cheers to lazy Sundays and good movies! xo

Office Attire

So I mentioned I got a new job right? Thank the lord. I now can wear whatever I please to this jobby-poo of mine. No longer am I forced to wear ratty jeans with steel toed boots and a tshirt to work. Such a girl thing to be excited about dressing up for work, no?

Anyways, now that I have the freedom to dress cute I am constantly looking for ways to wear my closet of clothes in a professional manner. I feel like any thing can be made office appropriate with the right styling.

I hate the corporate work attire. The matchy-matchy suit, office pants, super stuffy looking. That doesn't appeal to me at all. I'm also not much a dress/skirt girl. Never have been. I have 1671646 jeans in my closet. Can't get enough. And luckily in the office I work at we are suppossed to dress business casual which means leggings, skinny jeans, and nice jeans are all allowed as long as you make it look professional. This I love.

So there are so many choices of work wear and I'm trying not to shop for more duds and just use what I've already got in my closet. This can be tough, especially on days where I'm like "I hate ALL my clothes! I have nothing to wear! I look terrible in all this stuff! All my clothes are ollllld!"

So some inspiration is always helpful.

Good for a casual Friday!

So cute. But I wouldn't wear the duster with shorts, maybe with pants. But I like the idea of a office casual shorts outfit.

I'm always scared of full on sequin tops like this because I think people will look at me like I'm a weirdo when I wear it, but I like the styling of this. Tones it down a bit.
Decisions decisions. Fingers crossed I get a fat gift card to Marshall's for my birthday so I can enhance my work attire wardrobe a bit. xo

Found

Found this beauty at Hobby Lobby but I didn't buy it. I think the price tag was $200. I'm gonna wait for the 50% off sale on mirrors. I think it will look so cute in my office somewhere. Or over my future new bed for our bedroom. Either or. xo
Again terrible quality photo due to my cell phone...but you get the idea.

Book Case Lovin'

Sorry for the TERRIBLE photo quality. This was taken from my phone...

Anyways, a few days ago I posted pictures of my new office and complained how empty the walls were. Not to mention I have zero decor in the bookshelf or my desk for that matter.

Well on Wednesday I headed up to Phoenix to take a few classes and during one of my breaks I went over to Hobby Lobby, World Market, and TJ Maxx in search of accessories for my office.

I had a loooong list of things I wanted to buy, but as usual I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Doesn't that ALWAYS happen? When you have the money and are looking for something you can never find it. But when you don't have the money for stuff and you're out and about at the stores you find a million things you want/need to buy! What the hell universe. I blame you for this phenomenon.

I did find a couple of things like the turquoise vase, two cast iron key statues, and turquoise frame that I've placed in the bookshelf so far (the other frames I already had lying around the house from my old cubicle).

Those items take up 1 1/2 shelves of the 5 I have to fill. Next up I'm going to scour my house for "work appropriate" books to add. I mean it is a bookcase after all, but something tells me that the entire Twilight Saga is not something I should have displayed to the work world.

Still looking for some inspiration though. These pictures are examples of how I would like my bookcase to eventually turn out.

Not too overdone. And I WILL have flowers somewhere...

Hello lovely! Dark and amazing. I like the mix of books, statues, and photos.

Pinned Image
I'm a sucker for neutrals, but may need more color in an already neutral office.

Love the stacks of colorful book.

I like the idea of baskets for organizing.

I like the leaning artwork behind photos idea. Plus that bird statue is amazeballs.

The mix of vases and vertical and horizontal book placement is spot on. Wish I could but wallpaper or paint the back of the bookshelf like this!

Anyways, I'm sure I'll be searching for shiz for a long time, but I've got a start. xo

Officina

So as I mentioned yesterday, I started a new job. And with my new job comes my very own office. An office that is twice the size of our home office with four whole walls ripe for the decorating. I have no stinking clue what to put on the walls, how to fill my book case, or what type of chairs I want in front of my desk.

I have always dreamed of having my own office (lame,  I know) and I thought I would be so excited to decorate it any way I please. But now that this dream has become reality I'm stumped. I have absolutely no clue what to do.

A lady down the hallway from me just moved into her office too, but I swear to you like overnight she had it decorated in true Elle Decor fashion. I was blown away. This Monday when I walked into the office I went straight to hers to see how the decorating was coming along and BAM! I walk right into a freaking fully finished office.

I'm a little jealous of how easy she made it look. Which has gotten me all the more frustrated with myself that I can't get a grip and freaking put something on the walls.

So what's a girl to do? Search Pinterest for hours on end for "inspiration". Which really means I'm going to look at something and if I like it then I'm going to try and replicate it exactly. (I'm a total copier but whatevs). Here's a sneak peek of my office and it's glorious blank walls.

So as you can see I have cherry wood, southwest wood, and pine I think. The whole office has a very southwest appearance.

See that bookcase? Chyeahh..what the heck do I put in there? And those chairs! Hideous?! Either new cushions are needed or some brand new ones will have to be bought.

Those black and whites on the wall were already there when I moved in. Sooo I think I'm going to redo the collage wall a bit.

Areas where I'm stuck:

Wall space above long table behind my desk. Artwork? Photos? Collage? Clock?

Bookshelf. What. The. Hell.

Walls to the right, left and front of my desk. HAha. So basically every freaking wall. Artwork?

I also want to buy a cute rug, lampss, candles, wreath, storage baskets, and some other knick knacks to put around. Also thinking about displaying my college diploma. Or does that say "look at what I did" too much? Help.

Oh decorating Gods. Please speak to me. Love Jet

Time For A Change

So it's been a month since my last post. So many things have changed in my life it's unreal. I decided along with new life changes there should also be some bloggie changes. I was tired of my old background, but mostly I was tired of my old blog verbage. (I hope that made sense).

What I mean is, there came a moment last month when I felt like/realized I was writing my blog for other people instead of writing it for me. I was posting things I  thought other people would enjoy reading or looking at rather than posting what was really interesting to myself. I feel like when I started the blog I was good at just posting about the stuff I love, but somewhere along the way I stopped doing that and started posting things that were similar to what other bloggers post about.

I would edit my blog and re-read some of the things I posted and some of the things I said and I thought "Who the heck wrote that?!" Ever have one of those moments?

And then a million and one things happened. I quit my job. Started a new one. Ripped our house apart to remodel. Went on a 9 day vacation. And I'm still trying to catch up with myself.

Oy. Well. Here's to starting over and using this blog to really just be me. xo
