Check Your Facts

Bad journalism was recently spotted in Us Weekly magazine. The author wrote a "What's in my Bag" article about Nina Dobrev, the star of Vampire Diaries (LOVE!) and added a photo of the star to accompany the article. Only it wasn't a photo of her like it was supposed to be, it was a photo of Victoria Justice, a Nickelodeon star who looks eerily similar to Dobrev.

I do think they look alike but it's a shame the magazine couldn't distinguish between the two.
Here's to checking the facts and proof reading twice. Cheers!

{Nina:LEFT, Victoria:RIGHT}

What do you  think? Do they look alike enough to confuse their photos?

Beam Me Up Scottie

Just got home from the dentist. Still. Numb. Looooovely.

There's tried and true architecture that no matter where I am will always take my breath away. This design feature gets me every time and when I see it I can't stop staring and annoyingly saying that "I want that in myyyyyyy house." What do I speak of you ask? Exposed Beams. To die for aspect in any home in my opinion.

To me they shout "I hold up this house, look how strong and handsome I am"....or something like that. I just can't take my eyes off exposed beams when I see them in places. I especially like when they're a rich dark color or hand-scraped.

Check out these spaces and then let me know what you think! Do you have exposed beams in your casa?

Very traditional, unstained looking beams. Spotted here.
Modern and chevron patterned. Here

Exposed beam and exposed brick? Heaven! Via

Love the deep cherry finish on these beams + stained concrete makes this the perfect modern minimalist bedroom! Via

Wouldn't mind working in this sweet office! From here.

Holy amazing! Exposed beams and a huge log beam across a grand fireplace. Hello vacation home! Via

A little too stark for me but I do love a dark wood floor. All white beams almost hide such a wonderful design detail! Via

I heart exposed beams. And hazelnut hot chocolate. xo

A Fitch

Just "RAN". Cannot even begin to tell you how out of shape I am. Here I am sweating my hair out and all I did was run up the block and back (with walking breaks spaced in there). Not even a mile people! Trying to get into semi-good looking shape by May. Going to vegas and want to be able to get into a bathing suit.

Anyways enough about that...how about we talk about how cute Abercombie and Fitchs clothes are right now? I know, totally junior high teen store but they actually have some things that I would buy right now. Love it! Annnnnd it seems like their prices have gone down. Just me? I don't know...I havent shopped there in like 4 years but these babies might make me go back!

Top Row: Vivian Tank in White: $20.40
Kendell Dress in Red: $48.00
Breana Tank in Navy: $44.00
Coby Dress in White: $78.00

Bottom Row: Kaele Shirt in Grey Stripe: $19.60
Gemma Tank in White: $48.00
Gwen Bikini in Pink Floral: $33 Top & $25.50 Bottom

Thinking about shopping at A & F again? Me too! I just wonder how their swimsuits fit. I love that pink floral one! xo

Audrina Style Love

We all know Audrina from The Hills or Dancing with the Stars.....but I consider her a trend setter in fashion above all else. She makes the simplest of black tank tops look stylish, always has a glowing tan, and can rock any mini dress out there. Case in point her walk down the red carpet last night for the launch of her "Audrina" reality show premiering on Vh1 as well as her cover of Runway magazine.

How fa-reeking cute is her ensemble?! I love everything about it. Gold and black belted shiny green sparkly frock with peep toe shoes and wavy gorgeous hair? SO cute! This is something I would wear on a swanky night out hands down no questions asked. Here's to hoping she brings more of this adorable fashion to her reality show!

Aria Style Inspiration: Embellishment Style

Last nights season finale of Pretty Little Liars didn't straighten anything out for me. I'm still as confused as ever as to what's really going on. One thing I do know is that I still love Aria's style the most. Last night she wore the cutest black and white striped sweater with feathers on the shoulders. Not sure if the stylist staff on the show embellished the sweater themselves but it looks great! I did some searching around the Internet and I think its a Jamison sweater. Not a 100% though.

{See the cute feather detail on the shoulder?}

Embellishments can make the simplest of sweaters and tanks turn into eye catching must haves. I'll definitely be adding this trend to my wardrobe for the summer!

I Didn't Want To Look

I took a much needed technology free weekend. Long weekend actually, I haven't posted since last Wednesday! But I caught up on sleep, went to the movies, drove my new car everywhere! and had family and friends over for dinner and UFC watching.

Then I turn on my TV to watch The Real Housewives of the O.C. All went well until the last 4 minutes of the episode. If you watched it then you know what I'm talking about. TAMRA. Let me paint the scene for you.

She divorced her hubby Simon after last season. So now she's a single lady again and has found a new "soul-mate" as she says. Edward is her new Latin lover who she can't stop talking about the whole second half of the episode. Then at the end of the episode they show her filling up a bathtub, lighting candles, slipping out of her clothes...(sound like an x-rated show yet?)....and then finally getting into the tub. She then calls Edward in, who then gets naked as well and jumps in with her. Finally they are filmed kissing and basically doing the deed right there on camera for all the world to see.

OHHHH YEAH, THEY SHOWED THAT ALL ON THE EPISODE! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?

I'm sorry but she lost all brownie points with me. No class. And she even has little kids with Simon!! What if they see their mama getting down and dirty with the "new guy". Terrible. It was hard to watch. They have some balls to get that freaky on camera. BUT I guess to each his own. You couldn't pay me enough to do that.

Ohhhh Real Housewives of the O.C......you always bring the D-RAMA!

Best Wednesday Ever!

Soooo over the weekend I bought a car! I know right? Craaaazy. But I'm super happy with my choice. I bought a new Nissan Maxima and today was the day I actually got to pick it up from the dealership and drive it home. New car smell! I adore it but at the same time can't believe I bought a car all on my own. This is the first time I've ever had power locks and power windows so I'm totally stoked!

{this is not MY car but it looks just like it.....I'm still weird about putting pics of my home up Sorry! VIA}

It was a battle between heart and brain. My brain said "go with the Altima because it's less expensive and more practical." And my heart said "get what you want! you earned it! you love the Maxima." For the first time in my life I went with my heart on a big decision and it paid off. I couldnt be happier.

Wishing everyone as happy a Wednesday as I've had. Drive safely everyone! xo

Engagement Sesh: The Bachelor Style

Just. Watched. The. Bachelor. A day late I know but we finally saw it. I have to say I'm not at all surprised by Brads choice in Emily. I saw it coming. I was however surprised at how she acted on the "After the Final Rose" show. She had a little fire in her...a little attitude I didn't see during the show. I still can't tell...are they together or are they broken up? Hopefully together! The distance and time apart must have been really hard for the two of them but I hope they make it.
{ Gorgeous and just my style }

{A beautiful moment..I hope it lasts!!! }

ALSO... Did you see who the next bachelorette is?! It's Ashley the dentist! YAY! I loved her on Brads season and can't wait to see her choose a man! Go get 'em girl!

Six Things I Want (and Don't Need) Right Now

{ 1 }
{Either the Push-Up Bandeau or Retro Triangle Bikini from Victorias Secret. Don't know which one to choose!}

{ 2 }
{I miss my Blackberry! I have a Droid right now but I'm counting down the days to my upgrade!}

{ 3 }
{The Brentwood Leather Hobo Bag from Juicy Couture, I am in love with this color for a purse}

{ 4 }
{A Teacup Maltese! My dream doggy...so cute! Hypo-allergenic and no shedding!}

{ 5 }
{My own retail boutique. I would love to do this....eventually!}

{ 6 }
{A new bed! I'm tired of my boyfriends faux-granite shelved mirrored headboard bed. Time for an upgrade}

Although I would love to have each and every one of these things, I know that I don't NEED them. They will stay on my wishlist for now. It's still fun to look though!

Sooo last night we didn' get to watch the finale of The Bachelor like I'd planned. The boyfriend ended up staying late at work so I ended up eating cereal for dinner and watching Bethenny Ever After on Bravo. Still a good night of reality tv but hopefully I'll watch T.B. tonight! xo Happy Tuesday!

Let's talk about it...

It's not something that we're proud to talk about, but acne, bumps, and blemishes happen to the best of us. I was just having a discussion with one of my best friends this week on exactly this. She was complaining because she's 24 and still breaking out. She was asking me for my advice on what kind of acne treatment I use. It has taken me years and years to finally find products that actually work for my skin. I tried ProActive but it made me break out in a rash...soooo that was a no go. Below are the products I use everyday along with my words of wisdom for anyone who's interested!

{My life saver}
I tried St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser because I saw the commercial and it said it reduced redness. I get red a lot so I thought I'd give it a chance. Not only does this stuff smell and taste delicious (don't ask how I know how it tastes..it was an accident) but it has been the best thing ever for my face. It keeps my skin breakout free and really does help the redness I usually get. I love it and use it every night before bed. Try it. It's my fave!

{The tried and true}
This is a popular one when it comes to face wash. This is such a gentle formula you almost feel like "Is this working?" when you use it. But I kid you not it has reduced or killed off pimples over night for me. I love it. I use it two ways. I'll leave it on my face/chest/back in the shower while I have conditioner in and then rinse it off before getting out. OR if I get a random pimple on my face I'll dab a bit of this on dry skin where the blemish is and leave it on over night. Not a big gob of it but enough to cover the affected area. I swear it turns it into nothing the next morning.

{Moisture Baby}
My favorite face moisturizer. It's not a fancy one or anything but it's thick and smells good and has SPF in it and it really feels good on my skin. Not weighing it down or anything. I even mix it with liquid foundation to make my own tinted moisturizer. Its a good go-to moisturizer for all over face. Great drugstore buy!
{From my home}

So there you have it. My face/skin washes I use everyday. I'm no expert but if you want my advice all I have to say is this:

I read in a magazine once that just taking your makeup off every night, no matter how tired you are, is the best thing you can do for  your face. Even if you dont have time to cleanse or moisturize, just taking OFF the makeup will help keep skin looking clear. After reading that I always ALWAYS take off my makeup. I used to go to sleep in full club/work/evening out makeup and wake up with the imprint of my face on my pillow. No bueno. Take of the makeup and wash your face. It's been working pretty well for me, but then again everyone's different. Hope this helps some people. Happy Thursday all!

All-time Favorite Movie Set: P.S. I Love You

If you've never seen P.S. I Love You with Hilary Swank then you need to stop what you're doing right now, go rent it or whatever, and watch it. Seriously. Romantic movie at its best (although a little tragic in the beginning, but it gets better!). I fell in love with her apartment in this movie. So much in love that I actually painted my bedroom wall in neutral colored stripes in all 3 apartments I lived in during college. Dedication people. I fully intend to turn my home into a copy-cat P.S. I Love You apartment.

{VIEW LOOKING TOWARDS THE FRONT DOOR}

{HERE'S MY OLD APARTMENT WALLS INSPIRED BY THE STRIPES ABOVE!}

{MORE AMAZING-NESS FROM THE MOVIE}

Via, Via, Via and amazing collage Via

When can I move in?! Seriously. Makes me want to throw out every decoration in my house and go buy everything from this set. The untidy but-somehow-everything-in-its-place motif, distressed brick wall behind the master bed, the entryway striped wall, and the his and hers dressers are my ultimate favorite design aspects of this apartment. (hello run-on sentence..) Great set design and my most favorite set of all time. For.Ev.Er.

Busy busy Wednesday night for me and on top of that I'll be cooking dinner for myself tonight as the boyfriend is out for the evening. Maybe just a good pesto and parmesean pasta will do the trick.
